Photo Friday Challenge

This cute title is from Carly's Blog.

Hi Everyone,

Carly Robertson of The Simple Things blog started the Photo Friday Challenge and the Ten on Ten Challenge. Being both a fan of her blog and a newbie photographer, I decided to participate. Hooray!!! Then I found out that the first challenge was a self portrait. Booo!!!! BUT, even though I don't like taking pictures of myself and I like publishing them even less, I decided to do it so here I am:

Yep, that's me. I don't have a tripod and I haven't figured out the timer thingy yet so this is a decidedly non-artistic photo with me holding the camera at arms length. Eeegads am I pale... I'm darker than the hat so I can't complain too much. This is falling under the "What am I doing?!" Category which is followed by the "I can't believe I'm publishing an un-retouched photo taken at close range in bright light" Category. Ah well, what's done is done.

If you'd like to do the challenge, pop on over to Carly's blog and check it out!

Happy Friday!
H

  3. Thank you!

My daughter just said "Your head looks a little buried in there." She keeps me humble.

  6. Hi. I came via Carly's blog. I plan on playing along but hate my photo taken, but if it looks half as good as this one, then I will be happy. You look lovely and no touch up required :)

  8. I love this photo! You look beautiful, and I think you have a little bit of attitude showing through too. (Like "Oh yeah, camera? I got this.) The challenge sounds cool. I look forward to seeing what you've got next Friday!

  9. P.S. I subscribed to follow you on FB a while back, but I don't see your posts coming through. Is there something I can do, or a different way to follow you?
    Thanks!

  10. Thanks Heidi! That maybe more of a "This is the last time I'm clicking that button" look. I just sent you a friend request on FB, that should do it :-) Then I can keep track of you too!

  16. Heather this is quite nice. I would never have guessed you are holding the camera out at arms length. In mine I set the timer but decided to be goofy since I don't like taking pictures of myself either. It was great that you gave it a try too.

  17. Heather, your pale looks like my tan. ;-) You don't need retouching, you photograph just fine without it.
